WILDFLOWER
My name is Leslie. I am a 43 year old full-time working wife, mother, college student, theater nerd, spoonie who is trying to move from surviving to thriving in Florida. I have lived in Florida since 2001. I am married to the love of my life, best friend and partner in crime, Robert and we have been together for 16 years and married for over 10. While our road has been winding with many ups and downs, we always have each other’s back and live a wonderful life together. I truly believe we can conquer anything together.
I currently work in the mortgage document industry and have been for over a year. I spent some time off medically due to getting Covid in 2020 and being hospitalized in the ICU for 16 days and on oxygen support for 69 days total. I have been diagnosed with long covid syndrome by my primary care physician. I returned to working in August of 2021 after being medically cleared. I also spent that year getting my GED and entering my first year of college. I am pursuing a paralegal/criminology degree part-time. I made the President’s List for fall semester 2022 and am a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I am extremely proud of this because I started out as a high school dropout and here I am, making A’s and being invited into a prestigious academic group. I never thought I was capable of this. It is never too late to better yourself.
I have wonderful children that I am very proud to be their mom. I have a son who is 23 and off doing his thing, a 16 year old teen who is discovering their identity more and more each day, a son who passed away shortly after he was born in 2009 and an 11 year old son who is autistic and a very bright light in my world.
I am on a constantly journey of self-discovery. I will be going more into that with my blog posts as I figure out what to share about myself and the path I am taking. I know some might agree with the directions I am going in, but I am learning that I need to follow my heart and my soul and make myself a priority more than I have in the past.
